Memory Cafe Victoria is a social gathering where care partners can relax, unwind, and have fun with their family member with memory loss. It’s all about making social connections and joyful engagement in activities that focus on creativity.

Memory Cafe has invited Rita Findlay, founder of Sparky Snacks to bring her team along to the café to make Sparky dog biscuits. The team includes her two beautiful dogs, Finley and Lily. Naturally, everyone fell in love with these two dogs.

Following a brief introduction, the members got to work, rolling the dough, using the dog biscuit cookie cutters, including bones, paws, and fire hydrants, and placing these on the cookie sheets. One of the Memory Cafe venues made 451 dog biscuits. Rita took the trays home to her convection oven to bake them.

At a later date, the seniors delivered the delicious dog snacks to the local BC SPCA branch.

Amidst much joy and laughter, the seniors fed the dogs and spent time socializing with the animal shelter dogs who are waiting for a new home.
